A Website Builder For The Newbie Internet Marketer

For a newbie building a website can be intimidating, to the extreme. There is a lot to learn. If you are Internet marketing, as well, then you don’t have a great deal of time to get it right, either. If you are like me, then you may have even gone with a free service because building a website of your own is just too difficult. There are disadvantages with taking this direction, though. The biggest disadvantage is that you have to compete with their onsite advertising, which can possibly take sales away from you. It’s the cost of going in that particular direction. There has to be a better way. In fact, there will be a better way soon, but I’ll get to that.

If you are a newbie Internet Marketer, you have most probably have been told ad nauseam about what works, and what doesn’t work. I bet you’ve been told you need a killer landing page so that your clicks convert into sales. It makes sense. Very few people will stay on a website that looks like a dog’s breakfast, and fewer still will buy. The other advice that’s often given is to go and look at the Big Guys and see what they did so you can learn from their mistakes. It’s great advice, and it can lead to better sales for you. Looking at a well-laid out page and duplicating it, though, are two completely different things.

It is better to have your own website, with no advertising to entice the customer away. It can be really disheartening to see click-outs on the page that aren’t your links. It’s almost worse than seeing no click-outs on your links at all. You haven’t got the customer’s full attention. So free site, while great for the beginner, are most probably not what you need for the long run.
